154 years after the final day of the Battle of Gettysburg, the Civil War journals of Albert Drury are out!
Genoir® is excited to publish its second book! In just a few weeks, Genoir® will release The Better Part of Valor, based on the never-before published diaries of the 1st Vermont Cavalry's Albert Drury. The 1st Vermont saw about as much fighting as any cavalry unit in the War. Ed Bearss (National Park Service Historian Emeritus), James McPherson (Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Princeton prof) and other legendary historians reviewed the book.
Earlier this year, Genoir® offered to provide a free short story to the first person to respond to the contest. Melanie G. of San Leandro, CA, nailed it! When her father Chuck passed away last fall, she didn't hesitate to tell us who she wanted the narrative to be about.
Melanie from California was the first to respond to Genoir's® private contest to have a project undertaken for a family member. Over the next several weeks, we will document the "story within the story" about her project here. So please keep visiting!
If you want to know what Genoir is all about, just check out this month's issue of Your Genealogy Today...http://yourgenealogytoday.com/current.html. Check out "Bringing Your Ancestors to Life." In three pages, you'll see the importance and fun with using your ancestors to tell your great story...
